be concise, accurate and share some *message*. links to put at the end,
and in context, are welcome.
Summary:
Today tens of thousands gathered on the National Mall, protesting a war
on Iraq and the unilateral process the Bush Administration and its few
"allies" are engaging in. The demonstrations in Washington were part of
many that happened across the world today, starting in Australia and
sweeping around the globe. The day of action was also one of series
that have taken place as the world's citizens have vocally expressed
their dissent. The demonstrations in Washington were smaller than
previous ones that have attracted 100,000 and even over 200,000
thousand protests, but they come soon after a recent Code Pink action
in DC and a massive convergence a month ago in New York City.
Organizers promise for the intensity of protest to increase in the
event of war - with more non-violent direct action such as sit-ins,
strikes and walk-outs, and obstruction of "business as usual."
