If you all will forgive me for a moment, here, but...
Imho, I think we're being way too charitable to the pro-state girl. Did you read what she said? "We should stand behind our President?" Stand behind him, even if he's a wannabe dictator? Even if he's slaughtering innocents to juice up the profits for his big oil buddies? Even if he's an idiot and a sociopath?
I think that girl's been brainwashed by fascists, and worse, given blind mindless statements like "We should support our President", just plain sick, and I think her sickness is a small symptom of a greater sickness which has been gripping this country for the past twenty years or so. That girl has succumbed to a national mass psychosis. What happened there wasn't dialogue; she would've mouthed that "support our President" and "whatever Bush decides is OK" crap no matter who spoke with her. That damn' girl is _sick_, and I think that any article we publish on this encounter should very strongly stress just how sick her attitude is, and how it indicates just how hopelessly sick America is, as a nation, a society, and a culture.
"All over, people changing their roles,
along with their overcoats;
if Adolf Hitler flew in today,
they'd send a limousine anyway!" --the clash.
