Another reason why people involved with doing things within the IMC
should be attending meetings and coordinating with others doing work
within the IMC vs acting within exclusive groups and working in ways
which may interfere with other activities within the IMC.

This was all discussed at the meetings for this convergence, if you were
here you would have known that. If it's important that people doing
breaking news be on the editorial list then the editorial board should
be present at the meeting where the arrangements for who was doing the
breaking news was being made.

It's really frustrating to me that no matter what plans are made ahead
of time it always seems to come down to a small group of people taking
everything on themselves and excluding others from involvement. I'm
glad that everything seems to have come out fairly good here in the end,
with two new people both being trained in how to do breaking news and
alot of good live audio going out on the radio + being archived.

Maybe we can all learn from this experience and not let this be repeated
next time. I know meetings can be energy draining and we all go to alot
of them all the time, but they have a purpose. If people are organizing
just amoung a few people who have traditionally been involved and not at
public meetings where new people and those from out of town can attend,
the group becomes exclusive and ends up stagnating as new people can't
really get involved. The same applies to the IMC space.. where people
can come, get involved, work face to face, learn, etc. =20
