I'm confused, or maybe some others are. So let me share what I thought
was happening and my proposals:
* very old mail is now coming through the lists (like the Bork
feature, which was already approved and went up... and then it looks
like it was seconded again, by nancy this morning)
* there is a critical mass article people like and want to promote to
a feature, i second that
* joanie said, that if no one objected, she would combine with M28 - i
don't see it up yet, thank goodness: i object to *combining* it.
* because, yesterday, unless someone now objects - we (myself, joanie
- chuck didn't chime in one way or another but he was active on the
list at the moment) agreed that the morning feature was packed and we'd
just do a new feature for the rest of the day's events that we got any
media/stories for. so i'd make critical mass and the rest of the day
(or just crit.mass if we just have that) a new feature, above the
morning blockades.
* if anyone sees any more media relating to the bridge/14&penn
actions, compile the links and share them with this list for them to be
added to that feature, or give the list a heads up and add them
yourself. i know brian shared some photos. there might be other media
as well, and maybe even more coming.
FUTURE FEATURE PROPOSAL?
a few of us, at different times, went to the CCAS symposium on the
Middle East/US Manifest Destiny at Georgetown. i think between us all,
we got audio from the whole thing. over the next couple of days, all
the panels we recorded should be uploaded. the idea is each panel would
be an article, with the text being a summary of the topic and the views
presented, attached to the article would be several uploaded mp3s - one
for each speaker's short presentation, and maybe one for the q&a.
i propose that if all this happens we make a feature on the two days:
a short summary of the event and a panel list that would also be links
to each article on that panel. the event was full of academics and
experts on civil liberties law, jounralism, the defense, state
departments, the middle east - iraq, saudi arabia in particular, the UN
- all making cases for how this war is being done wrong and/or will
have bad effects. it ranged from moderate opposition to "radical"
defiance [all relative to the context that the guests were
academics/professionals. it was kind of like a high-level
classy/classist tech-in]
