The truth is that months before the war, Bush was telling lies and the news media knew it. Months before the war the American news media ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, and especially FOX News knew that Bush was lying. The foreign press in the UK, France, India, Germany, and the rest of the world refuted point by point all of Bushs lies before the war. Millions of people all over the world protested against Bush. But the the American news media ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, and especially FOX News, adamantly refused to report the truth to the American public. There were actually protests of thousands of people outside of offices of CNN and FOX News. Thousands of people were calling the news networks daily demanding that they start telling the truth. Anybody who questioned Bushs lies and the medias complicity with those lies was maligned in the news media as being unpatriotic, as hating America, and as siding with terrorists. Actors and musicians who spoke out for the truth and against Bushs lies and the news medias complicity were blackballed by the news media and banned, they lost movie roles, their shows were cancelled, their music was banned from radio. Right wing commentators like Rush Limbaugh, George Will, Bill OReilly, Bill Kristol, Shepard Smith, Brit Hume, Tony Snow, and other shills kept repeating Bushs lies and kept maligning those who questioned Bush. 

This is seriously bad. Bush was lying and the rest of the world knew it, the news media knew it, but the news media absolutely stoutly adamantly refused to tell the American public the truth. Americans who live in the Midwest are manipulated something horribly and were mislead by the ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, and especially FOX News into thinking that Saddam was responsible for the 9-11 terrorist attacks. ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, and especially FOX News outright boldfaced LIED to the American public.

Now the news media is sanctimoniously pretending to be surprised that no weapons of mass destruction have been discovered. Again, they are lying to cover up their previous lies. Harpers Magazine, Noam Chomsky, and countless other independent and foreign journalists had disproved all of Bushs lies months before Bush started bombing Iraq.

American troops started killing foreign journalists in Iraq and the American news media looked the other way. The American news media showed Iraqi prisoners of war and still does, and hypocrically lambasted Al Jazeera for showing American prisoners of war. I remember the day before US jets bombed Al Jazeera in Iraq, the American news medias, especially Fox News, were actually pressuring Bushs top officials to bomb Al Jazeera - while simultaneously showing the same pictures of the American POWs they were comdemming AL Jazeera for showing. I remember Sean Hannity of Fox News literally laughing at the news stories about the burning of the Iraqi museums. Damn those lying bastards, damn them all to hell.
