I think if any such action is being taken it should be based upon a
constant pattern of disruption (i.e. the way that we delete the
Hatrackmans of this world on sight, or go around and clean up if someone
posts the same comment everywhere) rather than on a particular phrase.
If we say that someone is 'banned' based upon a threatening post, which
is difficult to enforce anyway, there will be a list of claims and
counter-claims to do the same to other users every time debate gets
heated. But I think the debate on the site in the past 2 weeks in
particular has been rephrehensible, childish, boorish, unconstructive
and quite frankly, dragging the site down. Threats are NOT acceptable
even if in jest - surely this site is here for a different reason? I
just think that we should tread carefully when talking about 'barring'.
