Dear Editor:
The House's overwhelming vote--375 to 41--for a $15 billion handout to
combat AIDS abroad is an outrageous misuse of taxpayers' money.
Those who want to help AIDS victims overseas--or any charitable cause at
home or abroad--should do it privately, on their own initiative, with
their own money. But the government has no moral right to force
taxpayers to bankroll our politicians' "charitable" causes.
Therefore, our government should stop giving away our money and stick to
its proper purpose: the protection of our individual rights.
Sincerely,
David Holcberg
