Letter: Powell Recommends Appeasement Towards Terrorism

Dear Editor:
Secretary of State Colin Powell declared this weekend that "The United
States does not support either the elimination or the exile of Mr.
Arafat." His reasoning? "There would be rage throughout the Arab
world, the Muslim world, and in many other parts of the world."
By that reasoning we should not have attacked Afghanistan, nor Iraq;
nor should we try to kill Hussein, bin Laden and the Al Qaeda
leadership. In fact, if we accept Powell's reasoning, we should
immediately stop our war on terror--we don't want to further enrage
those peaceful Islamic terrorists and their supporters, do we?
