We are having trouble finding a venue in Cleveland and
thought that some fellow IMCistas might be able to help
us and point us in the right direction. Harm Stryker
is Kelly Nourse and Kenneth Yates, and we are members
of the Richmond Independent Media Center, so this email
is sorta kinda in context with the Cleveland IMC.
We're contacting you about the possibility of hosting a
two experimental band tour from Richmond (To Kill a
Petty Bourgeoisie, Harm Stryker) in Cleveland on May
2nd. We're interested in college shows, art galleries,
house shows, film events, radical events, benefits,
etc. We can send demos, tour posters, press kit, or
anything else you may need. Dan said he could pass the
info we gave him onto you if you're interested. Thanks.
About the tour :
Harm Stryker and To Kill a Petty Bourgeoisie, two
experimental duos from Richmond, Virginia are touring
to promote 804noise and the community that makes up the
804noise experimental compilation. This compilation
featuring 11 different artists from Richmond, Virginia,
was funded completely by persons interested in seeing
that the Richmond experimental & noise community
continues to flourish. All proceeds from the
804noise compilation directly benefit the production
of future releases by 804noise. The vision of 804noise
as a label is to publish and distribute music only from
Virginia with a focus on the Richmond experimental
community.
The 804noise Richmond experimental collective was
formed in December of 2001, founded on community and
mutual aid instead of scene and posturing. It has since
become a strong and diverse community of experimental,
noise and visual artists. The collective has organized
several events including 2003s 804noise Festival,
which featured 15 local experimental, improv,
avant-garde and noise artists, as well as sculptures
and film manipulations by 7 local visual artists.
About Harm Stryker :
Harm Stryker is a politically and socially motivated
experimental project, which employs carefully crafted
samples, minimal sequencing, feedback & theremins,
processed with filters, stomp boxes, and other effects
to create a rich atmosphere of rhythm & noise.
Their specific blend of hollow open sound spaces and
tight condensed pops and fizzles conveys a real sense
of isolated nervousness, and uses its desolate
minimalist instrumentation to make every detail of the
sound mix matter. Indeed, with the amount of effect
they are able to produce with their austere sound
selection, Harm Stryker is able to show off their
prowess at sound design and manipulation. - (Left off

punches through the analog jaunt from cone to ear
drum like a DSP paper cut between the mental toes. -
