Sub: Appeal to strengthen and join People’s Media
Initiative

Dear Friends and Comrades,

You are well aware that PMI is active in the field of
People’s Mass Media since 1999 and recently came into
limelight due to banning of “Aakrosh”, short film on
Gujarat Genocide 2002 and “Chords on the Richter
Scale” on post Earthquake situation 2001 in Kutch,
Gujarat by the Central Government.

PMI has today committed creative professional team of
filmmakers and it has now become a Society under
Societies Registration Act 1860 and Bombay Public
Trust Act 1950.

The first General Body Meeting of PMI will be held in
Mumbai or Baroda or any other Metro City of India from
where we are going to receive more support and
membership by the end of February 2004.

Those who wish to be a part of PMI, its supporter by
supporting creatively and financially or could be just
silent supporter of PMI should write to us at below
given address or through Email.

PMI wishes to generate necessary funds through
membership drive, support from Mass Organizations,
individuals and activists groups from within India.

PMI will strive to realize following Agenda, which has
been set by the promoters of the PMI.

1.	To produce Investigative stories on People’s
issues, their sufferings, struggles, aspirations and
attack on human, civil, political, economical, social
and cultural rights of the People and feed these
stories to main Television News Channels, local cable
channels, city cable news and other networks.
2.	Produce short films and documentaries on relevant
socio-political issues and create marketing and
distribution Network to promote and sell these films
including documentaries and films produced by other
progressive filmmakers.
3.	To produce feature films in Regional and Hindi
languages focussing state repression, communal and
fascist violence and stories arising from the
struggles of the masses, etc. 
4.	It will undertake other activities to stimulate,
facilitate and co-ordinate common lines of actions
with like-minded Media organizations, filmmakers and
cultural activists and group’s in accordance to the
aims and objectives of the PMI. 

To activate PMI, your support is essential, so
response to our call and do the needful and forward
this message to others and personally pursue the issue
with others.
