Hello,
I am not sure how to best publicize this on the indymedia cleveland, so I'm asking for your help.
I would like to notify you of a weekend of action occuring in Pittsburgh, PA on the weekend of March 20th, coinciding with the one year anniversery of the beginning of the war in Iraq, and also a day of protest in which 122 people were unlawfully arrested. This is going to be a regional convergence, much like the one in January of last year. The march and rally will all be permitted, and the weekend will be filled with interesting events.
I am contacting you because I am a Clevelander going to school here in Pittsburgh, and therefore know how close the two cities are. I'm pretty sure I am a member of the local Peace Action in Cleveland, but I am not sure if you are organizing an action in Cleveland. However, I urge you to consider taking part in this massive event, which will probably be at least 5,000 people. I am hoping to have your endorsement, as well as you notifying the activist community in Cleveland.
Of course, the whole idea is a convergence of people in the area against the war and occupation of Iraq, and so you would of course be more than welcome to plan your own events in regards to the weekend, march with your own banner, all show up together, or whatever everyone can think up. People will be coming from NY, MD, and other such places as well.
For more information concerning the events, please see below:

Feel free to contact me at this address or at 412-383-3021, or to get in contact with the Thomas Merton Center at info at thomasmertoncenter.org, or at 412-361-3022.
Sincerely,
Matthew J. Balotta
