I thought there was, to some degree, an approval for "$500.00" quick cash in

Further,  I thought that we were able to discuse & determine the amount to
send.. "Just for such emergancies. (in less than a week)

In the case (Rio+10), can those who want to cover it, give us an estimate on
how much you need for doing so...?

Obviously some costs will be easy to estimate.
for example:

( gas for the car $10.00), food $10.00  blank video tape $10.00
Blank audio tape $10.00, photo-copying
spreading the word about Indymedia.org

What I'm getting at is, "Pay for what you can your self."

And then tell us What You Need.  (we can try to get it before the event.)

REMEMBER....  "This Is Not CNN."  we don't hire reporters, we don't pay
reporters, we don't finace "news".

We offer aid and assistance to those who are willing to:
        "stop hating the media... and become the media."

Indy-Media is an "open space" for stories to be recorded/reported to.

And let's stress the word "PEOPLE"...

professionals fill colums with words that say nothing...!

Personally, I want something from the sole.
I want to SEE emottions I can feel.
I want something more that I can relate to, like a conversation with my
neighbors, my friends, and my family.

I don't want to hear CNN type reporting,
I'd rather hear the version you'll tell your friends and family.

I don't want to pay to YOU to go.
I'd rather try helping you to get there.
(ie: a ride or couch to sleep, food so you don't starve.)

Approxiate your need..  (ie: the stuff you can't pay yourself)

MONEY MAKES PEOPLE STUPID.

it makes them do things, in ways they would NOT normally do.
it forces people to look outwards for help, instead of incouraging personal
inititive.

IR chats are ok.....  But we need to prepare using email.

IR chats could become weekly as events unfold.

So getting as much education before hand would be helpful.
