Well, after long months of discussion, the Latin American IMCs decided to
equally distribute the money on the IMC-Latina account between the active
coletivos latino americanos. This decision was reached by consensus after
many IRC meetings and discussions through the IMC-latina mailing list.
The donation to the IMC-Latina will be equally distributed between 13
collectives:
IMC Argentina (Buenos Aires, Argentina),
IMC Rosario (Argentina),
IMC Cochabamba (Bolivia),
IMC Belo Horizonte (Brasil),
IMC Fortaleza (Brasil),
IMC Goiânia (Brasil),
IMC Porto Alegre (Brasil),
IMC Rio de Janeiro (Brasil),
IMC São Paulo (Brasil),
IMC Chiapas (Mexico),
IMC Chile,
IMC Colombia (*).
IMC Ecuador.
(*) The IMC Colombia share will stay on the IMC-Latina account until the
colombian collective can get over a small internal crisis, caused by
differences between the two groups that started the IMC Colombia. They
hope it will be over soon and they will let the IMC-finance know when they
are able to receive this donation and put it to good use.
The Latin American IMCs that are not going to be included on this division
are:
- IMC Uruguay, which has received a US$500 financial support at the
beginning of the month, agreed not to take part on the division of this
donation;
- IMC Mexico is not active at this time and decided not to take part on
this donation either;
- IMC Tijuana could not be contacted over the last month. We made every
possible efforts to contact them (through their mailing lists, personal
e-mail addresses and website) and we did not get any replies. So, we
believe their collective is not active at this time;
- The other 4 or 5 collectives from IMC Bolivia, since they do not appear
to be active either;
- And also, the new IMCs who have not yet passed through the entire
new-imc process.
Me and Nikito (from IMC Argentina) are the ones responsible to talk to the
Urbana-Champaign IMC and to the IMC-finance wg to see what we need to do
in order to have this donation distributed between those 13 collectives.
So, please, get in touch with both of us as soon as you can.
