SUMMARY: INVITATION TO THE DECEMBER 15TH BI-MONTHLY NETWORK-WIDE IRC
MEETING.

* WHAT: A meeting on Indymedia's IRC server (irc is like a chat room,
allowing people to have real-time text-based discussions), of at least one
liaison from every local imc and network-wide working group, and invidusals
throughout the network, to update each other on what each of us is doing,
and to discuss issues that are essential to indymedia.

WHEN:  December 15th, Sunday, 16:00 GMT  (check"http://irc.indymedia.org,
#meeting

WHO: YOU!!! Each local IMC and global working group (like imc-video,
imc-radio, imc-print) should ask one of its members to participate in the
meeting, with the purpose of relaying information from the local imc/working
group to everyone else at the meeting, and, afterward, making sure people in
the local IMC/working group know what happened in the meeting. Individuals
may also attend the main room of the meeting.

WHY: The indymedia network is growing every day and as we get bigger and
more global we realize how important it is for us to hear from each other.
In IRC meetings, many people have the chance to connect with the network, in
real time, in a dynamic and productive way.

HOW: http://process.indymedia.org/howtoattend.php3 The meeting will start in
a "main room," which will be the place to introduce the discussion rooms.
Please e-mail your introduction, and a summary of what is happening at your
local IMC, to "imc-commwork@indymedia.org" as soon as possible. After enough
people gather in the main room, we will break out into issue-based chat
rooms, which will send a summary back to the main room. PLEASE SEND
SUGGSTIONS FOR ISSUES TO DISCUSS TO IMC-COMMWORK.

There will be translation to/from Spanish and Portuguese, and any other
language people feel able to translate. Bilingual people are encouraged to
volunteer to translate for an specific room beforehand, so if that`s your
case please e-mail imc-commomwork@indymedia.org and let us know how you can
help.

AND THEN: This initiative comes from the imc-commwork@indymedia.org working
group, which is composed of a handful of people from various IMCs who
believe in the power of effective network-wide communication. The
imc-commwork@indymedia.org working group proposes we have these meetings
every other month, the first Sunday of every other month, to provide a time
for report-backs, discussion and focus. To help this happen, imc-commwork
needs to have more volunteers than it does now, from all over the network.

WER: DU!! Jeder lokale IMC und jede globale Arbeitsgruppe (wie imc-video,
imc-radio, imc-print) sollte mindestens eines ihrer Mitglieder bitten, am

WARUM: Das Indymedia-Netzwerk w=E4chst mit jedem Tag, und je gr=F6sser und
globaler es wird, desto wichtiger wird es f=FCr uns voneinander zu h=F6ren.=
Auf IRC-Treffen haben viele Menschen die M=F6glichkeit sich in Echtzeit, und
aufeine dynamische und produktive Art, mit dem Netzwerk in Verbindung zu=
setzen.

angek=FCndigt werden. Bitte sendet so bald wie m=F6glich eine Vorstellung

* QUE ES: Una reuni=F3n en el servidor IRC de Indymedia (irc es como un
chat, permitiendo que la gente tenga discusiones basadas en texto en tiempo
real), de por lo menos un representante de cada imc local y grupo de trabajo
de la red, e individuos de toda la red, para actualizar a cada una de las
personas de lo que esta' haciendo el resto, y para discutir temas que son
esenciales para indymedia.

CUANDO: Diciembre 15, Domingo, 16:00 GMT (mira en

encuentres).

QUIEN: TU!!! Cada CMI local y grupo de trabajo global (como imc-video,
imc-radio, imc-print) deberi'a pedir a algunos de sus miembros a participar
en la reunio'n, con el objetivo de pasar informacio'n de su grupo a todo los
presentes en la reunio'n, y, luego, que la gente de cada CMI local y grupo
de trabajo, sepa que ha sucedido esta reunio'n. Adema's cualquiera puede
participar en el canal central de la reunio'n. PORQUE: La red de indymedia
esta' creciendo cada di'a y cuando ma's grande y global se convierte ma's
nos damos cuenta de la importancia que tiene que hablemos entre nosotros. La
u'ltima reunio'n de toda la red a trave's de chat, fue' larga y un poco
confusa, pero varias discusiones importantes ocurrieron en los canales
tema'ticos en torno a la reunio'n. Tambie'n permitio'n a mucha gente tener
la opourtunidad de conectar con la red, en tiempo real y por primera vez.

empezara' en una "sala principal", de donde se introducira' la discusio'n
que ocurrira' en las "salas paralelas". NO ESTAREMS HACIENDO INTRODUCIOONES
EN LA SALA PRINCIPAL. Por favor enviad vuestra presentacio'n y un sumario de
lo que sucede en tu CMI local a imc-commwork@indymedia.org tan pronto como
puedas. Una vez que haya gente en la habitacio'n principal, nos dividiremos
en salas mas pequenas, que al final deberan volver a la sala pricipal con un
resumen de los que fue hablado. POR FAVOR ENVIEN SUGESTIONES DE TEMAS PARA
HABLAR PARA IMC-COMMWORK. Habra' la traduccio'n tdal/para espanol y
portugues, y cualquier otra lingua que la gente se sienta capaz de traducir.
En la ultima reunion la traduccio'n estaba solamente en una direccio'n.
Ahora el desafi'o para el equipo de la traduccio'n es mantener la
conversacio'n el las ambas direcciones en las seis salas. Pidiemos a la
gente bilingue que se ofrezca voluntariamente para un cuarto especifico de
antemano, asi' que si eso es tu caso por favor envia un mail a
imc-commomwork@indymedia.org y nos dejan saben usted puede ayudar.

Y LUEGO: Esta iniciativa viene del grupo de trabajo
imc-commwork@indymedia.org,que esta' compuesto de un grupo de personas de
distintos CMIs que creen en el poder de la comunicacio'n efectiva a trave's
de toda la red de indymedia. La propuesta de imc-commwork@indymedia.org es
de tenermos reunio'n una vez cada dos meses, el primer domingo de cada mes
para de este modo se dar tiempo a redactar las actas y preparar la reunio'n
siguiente. Para colaborar en esta reunio'n imc-commwork necesita mas

* CHE COSA: un meeting sul server irc di indymedia (irc e' una chat room,
che permette alle persone di avere discussioni scritte in real time), di
almeno un liaison da ciascun imc locale, e partecipanti singoli da tutto il
network, per aggiornarsi a vicenda su cosa ciascuno di noi sta facendo, e
per discuttere temi che sono essenziali per indymedia.

* CHI: tu! ciascun imc locale, o gruppo internazionale di lavoro (i.e.
imc-video, imc-radio, imc-print) dovrebbero chiedere ad uno dei proprimembri

aggiornamenti dal gruppo locale/di lavoro a chiunque altro durante il
meeting, e in seguito riportare a chi lavora nei gruppi locali/di lavoro
cosa e' sucesso nel meeting. i singoli possono occuparsi anche della stanza

* PERCHE': il network di indymedia cresce giorno per giorno, ed e' possibile
continuare questo solo se diventiamo consapevoli di quanto sia importante
per noi l'ascolto reciproco. nei meeting irc molte persone hanno la
possibilita' di connettersi con il network, in tempo reale, in una maniera
dinamica e produttiva.

E QUINDI: questa iniziativa ha origine dal gruppo di lavoro
imc-commwork@indymedia.org, che e' composto da persone di diversi imc che
credono nella possibilita' di una comunicazione trasversale attraverso
l'intero network.il gruppo rpopone che ci siano questi meeting in irc una
volta ogni due mesi, la prima domenica di ogni mese, uno si e uno no, per
fare in modo di avere il tempo di farne i riassunti, le discussioni etc. per
fare in modo che cio' avvenga, imc-commonwork ha bisogno di piu' volontari
di quanti ne abbia ora, da tutte le parti del network.
