[Imc-finance] "Proposal"(more like an idea)for a network wide fundraiser for Argentina?

First of all, i am writing this proposal representing only myself, and not =
as a liason for IMC-Athens. We haven't discussed this idea as a group yet, =
just poped in my mind as i saw the request for money from the companer@s th=
ere.
IMC-Athens will be organizing a public event in Athens on December 20, the =
same days that actions of solidarity will be taking place all over the worl=
d and in Argentina the people will be in the Streets. It will involve a vid=
eo screening (Indymedia's "Que se Vayan todos!"), photo exhibition and open=
discussion.
We are planning to hold a fundraiser there and send the money that we will =
gather to IMC-Argentina. Besides simply asking the people there to contribu=
te we will be giving away for 5 euros a copy of the video in Divx format.
I am not sure we will gather a lot of money, but if more of these fundraise=
rs would take place those days all over the cities of the imc network, it c=
ould be a quite helpful contribution...
By no means is this in contradiction to the request for money by imc-argent=
ina. I just thought that besides waiting for some donour to give the global=
fund some money, it is much more participatory and direct to hold specific=
inter-imc's fundraisers..
