hey everyone,
i've been hanging out in the archives pulling together some critical
emails for an imc-finance wiki. this would be for our institutional
memory, to orient new members, to help older list members remember
critical details, to track our history, to quickly remind us of what
we are doing, when we did it and where did the money go, etc......
IMC FINANCE LIST SUMMARY - APRIL TO DECEMBER 2002
here's a summary of the categories i came up with (they can of course
be revised and consolidated and reorganized):
* initial proposal for imc-finance to be an empowered working group
* how the process currently works
* finance updates
* process/criteria/responsibility of this list
* proposals and calls to action
* general funding and finance list issues
* roll calls
* requests for support
* disbursements made and proposals passed
* offers of money and funds
* irc and list summaries
* ideas for how to spend money/share resources
* personal notes re fundraising
once we've updated it a bit and added it to the wiki, i think we
should send it out to the wider network as an imc-finance summary and
get everyone excited cause they have more information than before!!
i have not extensively filled out all these categories (requests and
disbursements are very incomplete). sascha will have a handy list
for all disbursements made, so links to those can easily be added. if
someone could go through and get the initial requests for funding,
that would be way cool. i also fear that there are some requests
that have gone unanswered.
this compilation is from april through december. i think it would be
good to go back another few months and be caught up for this year.
(although in a perfect world, critical emails should be included from
when this list was first established).
people may have ideas for how to better organize these emails and to
prioritize them or whatever. but these seemed like important ones
for including on the wiki. some of them have extensive threads that
you can check out.
