[Imc-finance] Proposal for funds: Request for Indymedia Network Server Expenses

Summary:

	$1800 to help the LA IMC / Rengeneration TV to assist in helping
	cover partial costs for two servers which host several imc's,
	docs.indy, and irc.



This is a proposal to ask for funds to help maintain a couple
of the servers that benefit the network. The Regeneration Collective
in Los Angeles has been providing support for two servers; namely,
kropotkin.indymedia.org and regen's server which hosts Los Angeles,
Chiapas, and Hawaii for nearly 3 years. Currently, we need the financial
support to help maintain this infrastructure.

The indymedia irc, documentation and development server, Kropotkin, is=20
hosted on our DSL line which costs about $70/month; the regen server=20
costs about $150-$300/month and its bandwidth usage is primarily for=20
indymedia sites (i would estimate the usage at about 80%). Yearly costs=20
for both run about $2400.00 - $3000/year which has been paid for during=20
the past 3 years by the regen collective. Los Angeles IMC has helped in=20
the past to cover some of these costs.=20

We are asking for $1800.00 if it is available and people feel that
this is a legitimate expense. The money will cover the next 6 months of
operation plus this November/December period. If the money is available, =
