I can speak to this only as a person born and raised in the U.S.

It seems to me that if we create a list -- imc-us/america/whatever -- that
it would only help to further the divide between us ("us" being those in the
US with me) and those elsewhere.  If it's an issue of people not realizing
that everywhere is not the US, how does it help to create a list where
they're only ever confronted by "fellow americans"?

Or is it a matter of only ever discussing the US legal system on a list
designated for US discussion?

I, personally, enjoy hearing discussion of other nation's legal processes on
these and other lists...
