hi all,
i just noticed something i wanted to let you know.
the process for finance decisions includes a three day period for
translations. proposals get sent to the central translation discussion list
translation@indymedia.org and this is stated in the proposals:

the problem with this is that the proposals mostly get stuck there. so far
we hardly have any translators or sufficient software/web sites helping the
translations along. that means that e.g. the last proposal didn't get
translated into any language as far as i can tell.
it's not a primary concern of this list to deal with translations and i
don't have a solution to the problem - but i think it's important to
realize that even though we want to include non-anglo imc's in the decision
making some basics are still missing. i just wanted to let you know.
maybe it would already help if everyone kept this in mind and asked around
_all the time_ whether people can help with translations or infrastructure
for translations or know people who can ... or just feel like facilitating
one or several of the translation lists or the development of the
translation process as such. there's a lot to be done.
