[Imc-finance] Request for support

I want to say first i think this would be a good use of some of the global
money. Having a new imc be able to meet and spend real time talking face
to face with other indymedia activists will do a lot do deepen the network
and their collective understanding of what's possible.
But meeting is not enough. We should try and use Jay's visit to Nigeria to
get them resources. The classic need for imc's in the global south are
laptops and digital cameras. We can get a good workable digital camera for
$250. A cheap new workable laptop can be had for $500. We should allocated
the money to get one digital camera and one laptop for both the nigeria
and ambazonia imc's. That's $750 each plus the already requested $600 for
travel expenses. Totaling $2100. Now i'm not sure we can have all of this
come from the global fund. But it seems to me some should come from the
global fund and we should encourage local imc's to help fundraise for the
rest. This is a chance to get the equiptment and connections in to the
hands of indymedia activists in Africa.
I'm just speaking as myself not representing or talking for any imc or
working group.
in solidarity,
evan
