i can see this is a long and arduous discussion, and
so i will try to be brief, in everyone's interest, so
i hope maybe it can be translated-? i will do a rough
translation in french below the english.
i am pretty new to this particular list, and have read
several of the last few e-mails about the ford money. 
when i was first told about it, i thought it might be
a good idea to take money from people we do not like
who can afford it, instead of from our friends all the
time, who have much less to spare.
after reading the e-mail sebastian just sent, i am
really and truly convinced that this is a bad idea.
money for regional conferences is absolutely not worth
jeopardizing the argentina IMC and their place within
the community. there will definitely be many, many
people whose support we always want and need in this
network of global and local efforts, who will be
extremely offended and shocked by this. as we are
supposed to be the representation of the antithesis of
corporate power, greed, domination, conflict of
interest, and in solidarity with the people who have
been oppressed by the actions, past or present, of
companies like Ford. even if the foundation is
separate from the company, it allows itself to bear
the same name, and this is dangerous in the eyes of
many who will not discern a difference. it is simply
not worth it for indymedia to be associated with the
dark times described in that letter, that were
suffered by argentina, among many others at the hands
of the Ford company.

je suis une nouvelle personne à cette liste, et j’ai
lit beaucoup des e-mails qui parlent d’argent de la
société Ford.
Quand un ami m’a dit de la proposition, j’ai pensé
que, peut être, c’était une bonne idée, parce que nous
pouvons prendre l’argent des sociétés mals, mais pas
changeons l’information que nous disons de Ford en nos
Indymedia journaux, web sites, etc.
Après j’ai lit e-mail du Sebastian, je pense,
vraiment, que c’est une idée très mal. L’argent pour
les conferences Indy n’est pas assez pour la
dissatisfaction des piqueteros, ou des autres dans la
communités Argentines. La role du IMC dans Argentina
serait très différente dans les yeux des gens qui
souhaite Indymedia et qui nous avons besoin. Nous
sommes l’opposite d’egoisme des corporations, des
grandes sociétés. Nous devons exprimer la solidarité
avec nos sœurs et freres Argentines. Peut être la
foundation est differente de la société, mais beaucoup
de gens qui aiment et souhaitent Indymedia ne la
savent pas. La nom est la même, est la foundation veut
que la nom est la même. C’est dangereux pour Indymedia
être associé avec les fois très noirs (décris dans la
lettre du Sebastian) pour les Argentines et aussi pour
beaucoup des autres à la mains de cette société, Ford.
