[Imc-finance] Ford grant - BH statment + respect and transparency

Money dividing a wonderful network that lacks, among other things, 
transparency and mutual respect. Clarification and a sincere thanxs 
to IMC Urbana for taking the role of administrating our funds. IMC 
Belo Horizonte supports to IMC Argentina and IMC Brasil statment is 
comming after the national meeting.

Hello,
When i read the first e-mail from Rosario Argentina talking about the 
involvment of Ford foundation with the Agentinian dictorshit, i have 
to addimit that i didn=92t take it so seriously. As Jay mentioned in 
his letter there is always a lot of people to speak out and criticize 
but only a few to stop and help out in na indymedia global project 
(such as IRC meetings, or print). But then a lot of letters followed 
that first e-mail and i started to get really concerned about the 
subject. Those countries that haven=B4t been trought a dictatorship 
have no idea what it is about. Not only thousands of poeple have been 
killed but also those who were left  alive became terrified by its 
horrors and the direct consequence of it is the lack of democracy 
that we still have. And so as a latin american i didn=B4t like to see 
the question being minimilized the way it was.
Last month when i joined the encuentros list, in my first e-mail i 
suggested that it should be announced in imc-communication the fact 
that we were working on that proposal and the answer i got back was 
enougth for me to agree  =96 a lot of people will come by, only a few 
will actually work and when something happens everybody will 
critizice it. Again Jay=B4s letter talks about this in a more 
understandable and articulated english. There was sure a lack of 
transparecy and the reason is very strong and bring us to think about 
our sustentability as a global network. How people won=92t get burnt 
out with this happening over and over again? 
At last and the most important issue i see comming out of this (agh) 
money + institutions is the fact that the PREVISION OF IMC ARGENTINA 
THAT THE FORD MONEY WOULD FRAGMENT AND DIVIDE THE ORGANIZATION IS 
ACTUALLY HAPPENING when people start questioning imc urbana and the 
people who have been working on this project for a long time, only 
aiming to make regional and network wide meetings happen. I feel sad 
that money is transforming a network based on solidarity.

((i))BH statment about it is that the money would be awesome but IMC 
Argentina has enougth reasons to block it and if they do so we totaly 
suport them.
