The Urbana-Champaign IMC supports Proposal 2003-F: Request for Indymedia
Network Server Expenses.  During our discussions one issue was raised that
I was asked to pass along to the Global Finance Working Group.

"I don't have a particular problem here.  HOWEVER, I would love for there
to be better streaming support in the network.  Here in Urbana, for
instance, we have no streaming media, even though we now have active video
and radio groups producing things that would find bigger audiences if
streamed.  Video, in particular, can't really be uploaded to groogroo
because downloads jam the bandwidth.  So -- could we get in on some
streaming, or maybe get a streaming server here via the global, with the
intent of serving the midwest?"

The UCIMC has the tech knowledge and people to handle maintenance of an
additional server, and we wanted to put this idea on people's radar and
see if there was interest.
