This is the version of the email in english. (Note, i have also been
talking to Silvio about both raising money for indymedia bolivia and a
fund for the families of those killed in the protests.)
SUMMARY: $500 in emergency funds for Indymedia Bolivia
Provisional and urgent proposal.
Dear indymedia friends.
We, indymedia, are the most important and incredible network of
activists in the world. The networks create paths across borders. These
networks between us are how we communicate and we have a language in
common, the possibility of sharing information. Today in bolivia there
is the worst crisis in recent history. Today, the bolivian people need
everybody. Yesterday [Sunday] more than 26 people were killed by the
military.
Today at least 20 have joined the list of murdered which is growing
every day.
And what do we do?
This email is from Indymedia Buenos Aires [Argentina] because our
compañeros in Bolivia do not have the time right now to write it. We
have been talking on the phone with Silvio, a compañero from indymedia
La Paz who asked us to send this letter because it is very difficult
for them to find access to computers or the internet right now.
Tomorrow [Tuesday], the situation will be more difficult because there
will be a general strike which incorporates all businesses and workers,
for this reason it is very difficult to be able to use the tools of the
internet.
We think that it is vitally important for everybody in the indymedia
network to receive all the support and solidarity which we can bring to
bear to help local IMC's when there are moments as difficult as what
is facing indymedia Bolivia where they are risking their physical
security. For this we send this this proposal in reflection of all the
imcistas who participate in our network and provide mutual aid.
We ask for $500 US for Indymedia Bolivia to be used as they need it
during their work and the crisis.
Indymedia Buenos Aries

Personal Translator's note:
I've also been in contact with Silvio and support this proposal as well
as us asking for donations on our website both for a fund for the
families of those killed and to keep indymedia bolivia functioning
during the crisis. Indymedia La Paz has one computer on a desk in a
human rights office in La Paz but they can't afford a monitor,
keyboard, mouse, or power cable, so it's a resource going unused.
