Emergency request for $300 to travel to Bagdad to help the existing but
not approved yet IMC there with a. technical issues, b. the process.

As a liason for IMC Beirut I have been asked to send this request.

Bagdad has a magnificent alternative media outlet

It is not yet an official indymedia, but they have been in contact with
the network, one of them came to visit us in Beirut and IMC Bristol has
set up a website for them. From all we can tell they work absolutely
within the principles of the network.

Ramzi who has come to Beirut to talk about Al Muajaha asked us
specifically for our support. So, Imad, one of our volunteers, will travel
there within the next two weeks.

The main thing he will help with is transferring total control of the
website to people in Bagdad. At the moment, the website is run by
volunteers in Bristol. Because of the bad Internet access in Bagdad
Bristol people have not been able to transfer control which would also
include online workshops on how the site must be run. We have been in
contact with IMC Bristol and they are really glad that we are trying to
help with this.

If there is help needed Imad will also help with the new-imc process and
with a much needed outreach campaign.

The money will be spend as follows:
$60 for the trip to Amman (return)
$40 for the Visa to Jordan
$200 for a jeep to go from Amman to Bagdad and back. Imad has been
strongly advised not to take any other cheaper means of transport because
of the security situation in Iraq.
