Here the last two mails about the request of Africa conferences

sorry, Uruguay talk a lot of the topic but we couldn't write something oficial.
but I can say that we think like Puerto Rico but we don't like the idea of use
the half of the money only in persons. ticket of a plain.

Hablamos de esto, pensamos que la conferencia de África es una cosa buena y la
tal vez próxima vez participaremos sobre todo si es en áfrica del norte.
Entonces, estamos de acuerdo con la petición de conferencia de Dakar. 

Sin embargo, pensamos que las financiación tal vez debería ser hecha de manera
diferente. Había correos en diferentes listas de indymedias pidiendo dinero que
probablemente no es muy efectivo, porque la gente en las listas son activistas
que no tienen mucho dinero para dar.

Nosotros para nosotros mismos pensamos sobre maneras de conseguir el dinero para
Beirut y creemos que la mejor manera es apuntar a libaneses en el exterior
entonces preguntar a indymedias ubicados en grandes comunidades libanesas que
nos ayuden en esto.

A lo mejor es una buena forma de financiar los CMI africanos tambiñén.

Hello to all

I'm Naijisa, the contact of IMC Puerto Rico in this list.  I have been kept to
so much of the whole situation in relation with the offer of the Conference of
Dakar, or at least almost everything.  I have brought the subject to discussion
to the group, and we understand that as activists and like part of Indymedia is
excellent that the groups have this kind of initiatives, and we supported that
they are made all kind of activities that help to grow and to make this
organization more solid.  We understand that the answer is not YES or NOT.  For
this we request for more time to take a decision  where we can negotiate a
amount not so high, but one that the activity can be made, although in smaller
scale, doesn't alter the intention (for example:  to cut the amount to the half,
make a selection to help in the passage to IMC's that are beginning, that has
greater necessity of this conference). 

Intention that we understand is to be able to increase the participation in
independent means of activists in Africa.  And for the same reason to consider,
also, if it is necessary  posponed a bit the date of the Conference.

We understand that to make the objective of the activity it is possible to be
gone little by little, beginning with a person, or a place or group, and then
these persons help to contact to the rest of the places, working altogether to
lessen expenses.  We understand the importance that this activity takes place,
the face to face meetings tend to be more effective.

But the virtual meetings, with the people who at this moment cannot participate
-like a option, considering our financial situation- can extremely be effective
if they are made consistently.  Passage of these activists is enough expensive
and has to know clearly consequences that it makes, since there are other
projects that also are running in the lists, and as Sheri says, "Still we do not
have a process or a way clear to obtain money for the network and this one means
that we are using the bottoms for which we do not have any way to recover." (not

Please, any thing that believe I didn't understand or I'm wrong in relation to
the discussion, let me know.  It is not good, that generate discussions as the
past one...  This is the first time that I participate directly in the taking of
a decision;  although I constantly read the messages of this list, participate 
can cause a bit of tension (or Resistance) when one is not accustomed to doing
it and meets this scene.    I hope that it could come to an agreement where it
could realize the conference, and to be able to put to us to think about forms
so that the global network manages to obtain more amounts.
