st3 for italy imc here.

You said that imc-stas from across the Indymedia network are organizing
coverage, but we think that this should mean that imc-stas from more than a
continent, at least, are working on that and need funding, and that a
preparatory work on organization by the entire network is needed.

You are giving no clear information about these two points.

Then, approaching the finance process more closely, we must say that media
production and distribution is traditionally funded by the local imc's: we
don't see why we should make an exception for your imc.

We must say that your imc, with the capital campaign, raised a private fund
of $61,000US.

We must say that while your imc can afford expenses to pay 'volounteers',
there are other imc's that _really_ need this money.

So we think this is mostly a provocation.

As you say, other imc's are involved: couldn't you all organize local
benefits/fundraising campaigns from now to the end of August? We think you
still have plenty of time.

copertura dell'evento, ma noi crediamo che questo debba implicare che
medioattivisti per lo meno da piu' di un continente ci debbano lavorare
sopra e abbiano bisogno di copertura economica, e che serve un lavoro
preparatorio sull'organizzazione da parte di tutto il network.

E voi non date informazioni chiare su questi due punti.

Dopodiche', osservando piu' da vicino il process, dobbiamo dire che di
solito la produzione e la distribuzione di materiali viene finanziata dagli
imc locali: non vediamo una ragione per fare un'eccezione per voi.

Dobbiamo dire che il vostro imc ha tirato su soldi per 61 000$.

Dobbiamo dire che mentre il vostro imc puo' permettersi spese per pagare
'volontari', ci sono altri imc che hanno davvero bisogno di questi soldi.

Quindi pensiamo che questa sia soprattutto una provocazione.

Come dite, altri imc sono interessati alla cosa: non potreste organizzare
eventi di autofinanziamento da ora alla fine di agosto? Crediamo che abbiate
ancora un sacco di tempo.
