I think this is a crucial point: we have been evaluating carfully after the
'Hub' in Florence what might be a good tactic to cross the ESF, by
confronting the official position of some organizations with concrete
issues, contents and innovative political and communication practices...
it is surely more effective to try to bring some of the important issues
and political methods in within the ESF and not at the margin of the event....
All of this thinking is useless anyways without a clear report of the
political and logistic situations and possibilities of convergences and
interaction with other social movements and activists...
For example at the Noborder camp in Puglia we had a very productive meeting
about the ESF where it came out that also the migrant movement will have a
very critical approach to the French official position for the ESF that is
still a sovranist politics based on national States, and this is an
obstacle for people that are working with migration, freedom of movement
and freedom of communication and that consider the critique of the border
regime and global communication as main topics for the ESF....

.

I think that the most important thing is to build the conditions to
strenghten an independent network of media and social activists that will
gain a european dimension of the political/communication action...

Can someone form France help us to have an overview of the current
political ESF process? and on what are the alternative proposals?

thanx, Francesca
