 Les actions et commentaires sur la liste de gilles K ont été
très lents et rares depuis plusieurs mois, je ne vois pas le sens
d'attendre longtemps. Maintenant que ce n'est plus une question politique,
c'est uniquement technique, le plus rapide serait de demander l'aide 
de quelqu'un d'imc-tech at lists.indymedia.org . J'envoie donc
une copie à imc-tech...

Dear imc-tech people,
   At imc-france, a consensus decision was made on establishing a
known list of people who would hold the password for modifications on
the france.indymedia.org site during the period of the "freeze", but
with only the very *limited* and technical task of making changes
discussed openly and decided by consensus on the lists imc-france &
imc-france-edito, and with the obligation to *refuse* to make any
changes until these are clearly consensed upon on one of these lists.

You can see that the text includes the list of exactly who will
receive the password. (The IMC Nice group should have the list of
people corresponding to the alias <imc-tech at medianice.org> somewhere
on their temporary mailing list: http://indynice.zaphebergeur.net/

There is now the *practical* problem of getting the password to these
people. The IMC Nice geeks <imc-tech at medianice.org> feel that PGP
codes should be used to do this securely. This is fine by me, it's
not my decision.

But the bigger practical problem is waiting for the IMC IDF people who
have the password to pass it on. It is now a week since the deadline
passed for anyone to object to the proposal, and it seems that people
are waiting for one of the IMC IDF people who in the past has been very
slow (weeks) to respond to requests on the mailing lists.


REQUEST TO IMC-TECH: 
i wonder if someone from imc-tech could simply get the password - or
just change it and make a new password - and transmit it to all 
the email addresses on the list in 
http://lists.indymedia.org/mailman/public/imc-france/2002-July/003579.html  

For security, the more active and geek-y people on the list
(e.g. imc-tech at medianice.org) could then quickly change the
password again, and then explain PGP to the others in order that
everyone on the list now has the same (new) password.

But in this case, the initial message can simply be by normal
email - i think the risks are small.

At some point, this discussion should move to imc-france-tech, IMHO.



[fr]  Je propose que quelqu'un d'imc-tech envoit le mot de passe
tout simplement à tout membre de la liste dans la proposition.

Pour les soucis de sécurité, les gens qui sont les plus actifs et
connaissant en informatique (imc-tech at medianice.org, à mon avis)
pourraient ensuite rapidement changer le mot de passe, et ensuite
prendre le temps qu'il faut (un jour ou deux, j'imagine) pour 
expliquer aux autres comment faire un code PGP etc.  

Mais l'envoi initial pourrait tout simplement être par mél
ordinaire, il me semble que les risques sont minimes.

A un moment ou un autre, on pourrait déplacer cette discussion vers
imc-france-tech, à mon avis.
