[Imc-india] Draft - WSF Funding Proposal

This is a proposed funding letter to send to imc-finance. It needs to 
first be checked over to make sure people agree with it, then sent on 
to imc-finance as an official proposal from imc india. We should do 
this quickly as we need to give people a couple of weeks to make the 
decisions in their local imc's.

Summary:
	$750 from IMC-Finance for Indymedia India in Mumbai for the World 
Social Forum.
	Projects: Small public media lab and web radio station.
	Deadline - ????

The World Social Forum in coming to Mumbai, India in January 2004. 
Indymedia India and indymedia activists from other IMC's are planning a 
small project to cover the social forum, parallel events, and build 
indymedia organizing within south asia.

The project includes setting up a small media center with internet 
access within the official forum. An outside space is also being 
investigated. Community radio is for the most part illegal in India and 
not wide spread. In prep discussions the idea came up of creating a web 
radio studio and inviting people to participate. With this we will be 
both supporting the struggle to create a form of participatory media 
which is locally approiate and creating an activity in which people can 
learn about and participate in indymedia activities during the forum.

Total Project Costs:
Rent - Office space for the media lab inside the WSF 		$150 (estimated)
Rent - Workspace outside the official WSF				$100
6 Computers at $50 per computer						$300
