Thanks... it seems to be a decision relating to publishing, and there
are a limited number of choices, not to mention the sad lack of time,
which has happened largely because I believe indymedia was working to
avoid this situation for as long as possible.

The current software is called Active, but there are no persons at
indymedia willing to continue its support.

The options are Mir, SF-Active and Dada. The Mumbai group already
uses Dada, but it is currently very silent, and we do not have any
contacts responding from amongst the moderators or list managers.

The feedback we have got from other indymedia people is that Mir is
the most workable of all these choices, given that one day we hope we
will have a truly representational and flourishing media site,
supporting multiple languages and multiple sub-entities.

If there are any opinions to the contrary, please let us know asap so
we can discuss it out with our friends at indymedia. I have
separately been recommended another publishing software, Plone.
However, we simply do not have the freedom to consider this choice.
Maybe one day when we can have our own servers, we can evaluate what
direction we want to take on this, but for the moment, this is what
we have.
