Terrific. It is not hard to get started informally, and work up to a
state of being a formal Bangalore based indymedia.

fyi, last year, the main indymedia servers had to migrate to new
machines, at which point the platforms were also upgraded - we had a
choice of new systems, none of which any of us were knowledgeable
about. Anyway, after consultations, we chose a system called Mir,
because it has the promise of support for non-Roman scripts, and it
also has some sort of easy way to run subgroups.

>From the administrative point of view (the global indymedia gives us
hosting resources) it is a good way to encourage local indymedia to
find an identity for themselves, working with fairly clever
technology to create a base for independent news reporting, together
with media activism in Bangalore.

Most of the links on india.indymedia.org home page seem to be dead. Including 'be a volunteer' and 'contact'. Who are the admins and how do I contact them to volunteer.

Thanks,
