I think there is some confusion about the purpose of this list.

It is for indymedia functioning, not for announcements or news items. 
That is the job of the site itself.

Because our main imc purpose is open publishing, the list is hit with 
endless spam, at least 30 to 40 mails a day that have to be tediously 
checked and winnowed manually. It is possible that the mail you refer 
to got chucked out along with various pleas to buy pills and potions, 
and worse.

Please try and mail the list on imc matters only. Your comments on 
the site appearance for instance would be valuable.
