CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

Seattle's 1st Independent South Asian Film Festival invites submissions of film and video works on subjects related to South Asia and/or its Diaspora. Short films, experimental films, documentaries, and narratives of any length will be accepted in 35mm, 16mm, and digital formats. The week-long Festival will foster an atmosphere of creative inquiry, where filmmakers and audiences can learn from one another in lively discussions, forums, and other collaborative interactive formats.
Festival Dates: September 16-22, 2004
Eligibility
* All works must be related to South Asia and/or its Diaspora.
”South Asia” includes: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India,
Maldives, Nepal,Pakistan, and Sri Lanka
* All works must be independently produced
* All works must be released after January 2001

ABOUT TASVEER
Tasveer, "picture" in Hindi/Urdu, is a non-profit South Asian film
organization based in Seattle, Washington and founded in March 2002. We are committed to bringing films from South Asia and its Diaspora to the Pacific Northwest. We strive to build the South Asian independent media community through screening and production. Our intention is to increase awareness of all South Asian countries and cultures -- Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. We have screened over 50 independent films in the last two years.
