Hello Chris, have a look at:

Scroll down and look at the existing groups in the Uk and for an overview of 
what's going on.

You have mailed specifically Imc London Working Group, on of two groups in 
London. Follow the links and have a read of the group Charter if you care to - 
we have a specific, but OPEN way of working.

Then maybe think about how you would like to contribute - which will be most 
welcome.
Also you can look at

to see what's going on overall in the UK.

Remember this is a DIY project - work out what you want to do and jump in :))
