Bombay Sarvodaya Mandal and NSS Units of colleges of Mumbai University =
and SNDT University and peace loving citizens have been organizing an =
anti-nuclear peace march to commemorate Hiroshima day and to join the =
people of the world for a Nuclear Free World and to create Social =
Awareness among students of holocaust of nuclear armaments on 6th August =
every year since 1985.
This year also we have organized the Hiroshima Peace Day March on 6th =
August, 2002. The peace march will commence from Azad Maidan at 3.00 pm =
and will conclude at Hutatma Chowk at 3.30 pm with a pleadge for NUCLEAR =
FREE WORLD and INTERNATIONAL PEACE.

DATE: TUESDAY, AUGUST 6 2002
STARTING VENUE: AZAD MAIDAN (VT Station) TIME: 3.00 P.M.
ENDING VENUE: HUTATMA CHOWK TIME: 3.30 P.M.

"BHARAT JODO SADBHAVNA ABHIYAN"
60th Anniversary of the historic "Quit India Movement"
This year marks the 60th anniversary of the historic "Quit India =
Movement". It was 60 years ago, on 9th August, Mahatma Gandhi gave the =
clarion call to the British to "Quit India" and gave the mantra "do or =
die" to his fellow countrymen and women. After 54 years of independence =
from the British, our nation now finds itself engulfed with many social =
evils such as communal riots, hunger and malnutrition, several kinds of =
violence, female infanticide, intolerance, corruption and nepotism, =
illiteracy, environmental degradation, terrorism etc. The situation =
warrants the movement against these social evils.
With this background, Mumbai Sarvodaya Mandal, Gandhi Smriti and Darshan =
Samiti, New Delhi, Gandhi Smarak Nidhi, Dept. of NSS of Maharashtra =
Govt. and University of Mumbai & SNDT launch the "BHARAT JODO SADBHAVNA =
ABHIYAN" to inculculate the spirit of brotherhood, national integration =
and fight against the social evils on 9th August, 2002 at August Kranti =
Maidan between 8.30 to 9.30 am.
