Background infomation:

As well as distributing films WE ARE VERY INTERESTING IN FINDING NEW FILMS
TO DISTRIBUTE to the UK and Europe. If you have any, know anyone who has
any or know of any good films we should distribute please get in touch.

We are contacting you regarding a new video project which is selling
alternative news/views, independent, environmental, political, social
change and other progressive videos over the Internet. This site was
created in partnership with others who are actually making the films to
help in solving the problem we have been talking about for years -
Distribution.

The site was created by i-Contact Video Network (a non-for profit media
group in Bristol, UK) with collaboration from various alternative video
groups in the UK including Undercurrents, Conscious Cinema, Guerillavision
and Spectacle Productions.

The films currently available on the site (http://www.cultureshop.org) are,
all videos in PAL format
(If you have any films you wish to distribute please contact us):-

By the end of the month we should have around 20 films on the site, here
are the current titles:-

Undercurrents 10 3/4
http://www.cultureshop.org/details.php?code=GTHEM
Undercurrents 11 will be out shortly but in the meantime here is what they
have been up to since then. 'Globalisation and The Media', Which explores
the role of the media in this corporate led take over of the Planets
natural resources. 'Revolting in Prague', WTO/IMF conference shut down by
activists. 'Mark Thomas and the Met', watch TV comedian give London police
the run around. 'GMO', music by Seize the day with anti-gmo commentary.

The Coconut Revolution
http://www.cultureshop.org/details.php?code=COCOREV
A modern-day story of a native peoples' seemingly impossible victory over
Western Colonial power. An island rose up in arms against mining giant Rio
Tinto Zinc - and won. Encouraged by the ensuing blockade the islanders took
equipment from the derelict mine and recycled it in the world's first
eco-revolution.

McLibel - Two Worlds Collide
http://www.cultureshop.org/details.php?code=MCLIBEL
McLibel: Two Worlds Collide is the inside story of the single father and
the part-time bar worker who took on the McDonald's Corporation. Filmed
over three years, the 50 minute documentary follows Helen Steel and Dave
Morris as the anonymous campaigners turn into unlikely global heroes.

Rattle in Seattle, Capitals Ill, Crowd Bites Wolf
http://www.cultureshop.org/details.php?code=GV3
Since Seattle Guerillavision have been documenting the campaigns against
globalisation from behind the barricades. These are stylistic hard hitting
films (Big Rattle in Seattle, Capitals Ill and Crowd Bites wolf) which pull
no punches. But be careful, watching all three together will have you
reaching for a rock and heading for the nearest symbol of capitalist
oppression.

Casualisation Kills (Simon Jones 2002 update)
http://www.cultureshop.org/details.php?code=SJC
People like Simon Jones get killed at work all the time and nothing is done
about it, not this time. Family and friends of a young man killed at work
demand justice and an end to casualisation of labour. The campaign has
since ensured a historic prosecution for corporate manslaughter. The video
tells the story of the campain and shows how family and friends of Siman
worked with direct action activists and trade unionists.

Crowd Bites Wolf
http://www.cultureshop.org/details.php?code=CROWD
Film about the IMF/World Bank Meeting in Prague, September 26th 2000.
Repaving Prague with the new Czech legions: In the hope that the
rust-ragged remnants of the iron curtain would cloak their gluttonous
antics, the World Bank and the IMF scuttle off to the Czech Republic for
their 55th annual meeting.

Nonviolence for a Change
http://www.cultureshop.org/details.php?code=NV4C
The right to take direct action towards issues we strongly believe in is a
right protected in all free nations. But what is nonviolence? How do we
measure effectiveness? What about democracy? Is property damage violent?
Should all direct action be nonviolent?

Suits and Savages
http://www.cultureshop.org/details.php?code=SANDS
'India Ecodevelopment' is a tiger conservation project funded by the
Global Environment Facility/World Bank. We take a long zoom from one remote
tribe in Nagarhole, Southern India, to another, more powerful, in
Washington DC, via heated debate between activists and Bank staff, and an
emotional video letter from the forest.

Mark Purdey and Organophosphate
http://www.cultureshop.org/details.php?code=PURDEY
Organic livestock farmer Mark Purdey was ordered in the 1980's, along with
all cattle and dairy farmers in the UK, to treat his cows with an
organophosphate pesticide 'Phosmet' manufactured by I.C.I..
Organophosphates are derived from military nerve gas and a systemic
treatment (the chemical enters the entire internal system of the cow) would
undermine his organic principles so Mark refused to treat.
