[IMC Bombay] Another Response

Dear friends in the IMC:

I must apologise and withdraw my earlier, defensive response to Boud. 
In retrospect, I'm delighted that it has triggered off a flurry of 
replies and discussion on our side, and really thorough and caring 
responses from Evan and Petros, as well as from Boud. I hope the 
discussions continue, and that others speak up about how they feel 
about outreach, language, the most appropriate medium for us to work 
on/in. John's idea of compiling a list is great, and I hope we can 
start doing this at the next IMC meeting at Comet.

In the past several days, Sanjay and I have been talking to large 
classes of BMM (Bachelors of Mass Media) and also to one 
Post-Graduate Diploma in Media class around Bombay. Through these 
talks we have recruited more than a hundred new people to this list, 
and have introduced them to the idea of IndyMedia and what we have 
done so far in the Bombay IMC so far. I hope everyone on this list 
will welcome these students from Wilson, K.C., Jai Hind and Rizvi 
Colleges, and Sophia Polytechnic! It would be great if we could do 
more such sessions both with teachers and students in media courses 
in the future, I know many of us in PUKAR would be able to help in 
logistics.
