hey everyone,
i think it would be nice to work on a comprehensive feature on the
Indo-Pak issue - if anyone has any info/comments/anything that is
relevant, do send it to me, I'll try and organize things on my
computer.
Things that I'd like to include are:
1. A large base of information - facts, and figures, etc. about the
conflict, also adress the issue of how we here in India think
everything coming from the other side of the border is a lie, and vice
versa. I'm also going to try and do detailed research on the arms
trade, defense expenditure, and chart where the two countries are
getting their weapons from (and how in so many cases, the people
coming as "peace-makers" are the same people selling both sides
weapons)
2. A report with interviews of Kashmiris about how war has affected
the Kashmiri people - and while both sides are claiming to be fighting
for them, they're suffering the most.
3. I think it would be nice to try and hook up with some students or
ordinary people from Pakistan and have some sort of dialogue and maybe
try and evolve a joint statement of sorts calling for peace.
if anyone has any ideas, info, or can contribute to this in any way -
PLEASE get in touch with me. thanx a mil.
side-note: an Indian and Pakistani have put up a petition calling for
peace online at http://www.PetitionOnline.com/bawabeg/petition.html
take care,
Sanjay
