I dislike putting any damper on stretching, laudable targets such as the one on
the Water Project.
But, it is more irksome not to, so here I go.
I dont deny that the Water Issue is calamitous in India and elsewhere and the
steps or approaches in the write-up sound like the right way to go.
Using Tennyson's poetry and references to Indra evoke imagery and yes, maybe,
unique ways to inspire many and convince several to devote passions to this
issue.
But I would be very wary of using pop-pseudo-scientific methods to either (a)
get support from other individuals or (b) design your thinking to approach this
problem.
Statements such as "...Once you get into the realm of these waters, you will
realize the significance she has in your life, in the cerebrospinal fluid that
keeps you alive, in the oceans that swallow most of our earth, in the purity of
the rituals we perform........" are , I hate saying this, too far from the
truth and wool-pulling.
The water that our bodies are composed of, yes, it is H2O, chemically, but to
draw sweeping, poetic parallels between the human water and the Vaitarna river
is, well, not exact science but poetry. Good poetry, nevertheless.I could spend
an hour explaining exactly what human water is and the subtleties of the fluids
in various tissues and organs but that would be a tad dry (pun intended).

These are obviously just my personal opinions as I get irked by science twisted
to suit emotional appeals. Having said that, I admire the initiatives worded in
the proposal and wish well.
