In response to the violence in Gujarat from February 28, 2002 onwards, Musl=
im Organizations and Human Rights Organizations is still date struggling to=
 provide Relief ands Rehabilitation to victims and survivors in different p=
arts of Gujarat.=20


As, SAHR WARU, we have also been putting in our efforts for the same. Our e=
fforts included mainly advocacy on the issue at various levels and platform=
s through documentation and representations, filing affidavits, signature c=
ampaign voicing people=92s anguish and needs, providing needed legal aid in=
formation and relief in terms of food supplies and education. Taking our ef=
forts one step ahead to bring in change in economic condition and as a grou=
p activity for reconciling process, SAHR WARU, with support from NAWO (Nati=
onal Alliance of Women) and in partnership with women victims is opening a =
fair price shop in Faizal Park Vatva. These women victims from Naroda Patiy=
a have been resettled here by the Shah =96 e- Alam Relief Committee and are=
 victims of severe violence. The inaugural ceremony of the fair price shop =
"Sanja" has been held in occasions of Gandhi Jayanti, October 2, 2002 remem=
bering Gandhi and his efforts for Communal Harmony. Along with the inaugura=
l function, sewing machines, bicycles, and electronic tools for livelihood =
will also be distributed to the women victims from other areas.=20

We extend our heartfelt invitation to you for the same. SAHR WARU is a part=
 of Citizen=92s Initiative.
