=46riends,The National Alliance of People's Movements is happy to 
invite you for a discussion with Satu Hassi, a senior environmental 
activist and political leader from Finland, Europe. She was 
Minister in Finnish Government led by Social Democrats. It is 
rainbow=92 government, a coalition government. Last year Satu was in 
Bombay as Minister for Environment and Development Cooperation of the 
Government of Finland. Since then she has resigned from her post as 
Minister because of the Finnish Government's decision to commission a 
new nuclear power plant. Satu has been a Member of Parliament since 
1991. Along with being an MP she is also a writer and has aPhD. in 
Electrical Engineering. She is a member of the Green League party and 
was its Vice-Chairperson from  1989 to 1991 and Chairperson from 1997 
to 2001. She was also a Member of Tampere City Council 
1985-2000.The discussion with Satu will focus on the emerging 
challenges of Green politics in Europe and the potential for 
alliances between the green movement there and people's movements in 
India to fight with Globalisation.The meeting will be held at
