Personally I don't have much problem when it's just getting some money back
to the people. But there are somehow valid strategical concerns that many
arised and could break indymedia apart. This may not be clear in the first
world but down here when some radical organization (or wannabe) gets fundings
from a big source the rest of the radical spectre distrust it and a lot of
times start badmouthing. Now tell me if you were some intelligence agency
you wouldnt try at least that (no strings attached or whatever easy money).

I agree with you in this practical approach.
But if you ask me about this particular funding, it might be OK to me and
imc-rosario but not to others in the network.
