Hi, 

sheri told me that you are about to ship 200 computers to the Global South 
and that maybe I should send our request for 8 second hand computers for IMC 
Beirut to you. Now, I checked your docs and it looks like you just do Latin 
America, not the Middle East. So, before I send the proposal, are you the 
right address or someone else?

> it sounds like the uk folks are doing their thing and it sounds like it falls within the larger category of tech solidarity, but i don't know anything more about what they are doing.  evan has been one of the contacts for the tech solidarity project.  we're still raising money for the second shipment.  the first shipment funding came from multiple sources - in kind donations, lots of volunteer tech support from sf to portland to oakland to seattle, the portland freegeek people, indymedia people of course, individual donors, a call out for funds on the global site, a small foundation in sf, etc.  we're still looking for funds and have some other possibilities with the open society institute.
