[IMC-Tech] date function not working?

Hi all,

I just updated the feature on the top column of the front page telling
people to check out the DC-IMC site for breaking news on the inauguration.
The original article was posted Jan. 18, I believe.  The preview in Evan's
editing system indicates that the date on the article has been changed to
the 20th, but that doesn't appear on the site.  Does the date change
automatically when there's an update or does that date that we see indicate
the original posting date of the article?  What if we update an article
that's already there, let's say the Peltier article (I believe he was
denied clemency).  Will that update immediately appear at the top of the
features column or if we want that to happen do we have to input a
completely new article?  Questions, questions.
