Hey Tony,
I thought the subject of representation was clear now, after much discussion on
the subject over and over: -
London working group of Imc UK is representing itself - we are following the
situation and will input as we choose; Bristol(UK) is representing itself -
Tony Gosling is acting as contact/liason for them globally.
Please remember that you are not the contact/liason for Indymedia UK/ IMC UK/
Indymedia UK network, or anything else 'UK'.
Your group is one of many groups within the Indymedia network - neither are you
at its centre becuase there is no centre.
Indymedia UK/IMC UK is not one homogeneous mass. You cannot represent in any
way.
You can only represent your group. Please do not do otherwise or you will cause
the same problems again and bring local issues to a global forum again - which
will be very disruptive there.
You can of course relay information _to_ imc-uk-process as you choose from
global discussion, but only in this direction - *not from it*.
There is another thing specific to the global Finance Working Group: there is a
requirement for being in this group: an individual's or group's input into the
global network; this is the defining document of that group.
http://lists.indymedia.org/mailman/public/imc-finance/2002-May/001265.html
Therefore becuase the global input of the different groups in the UK differs,
you cannot possibly be in the Finance Working Group as anything else but as
from your group only and specifically - and only then if you nominate some
global network work, beyond your local group's activiy, that your group
does/will do.
My suggestion given the situation is that you copy your mail to your group's
separate list, if you havn't done so already, and respond as a group as you
choose [but see 3rd paragraph above].
