I don't think the fear of having a UK IMC mail server
being shut down (by the state?) is a good reason for not
setting one up -- on what basis to you believe that it
would be shut down?

Regarding detection -- almost all the emails lists are
publically archives and indexed by google so I don't see
what the fear of 'detection' is based on -- Indymedia is
an open project and has nothing to hide.
