Hi 

My name is Solon and I am one of the persons in the group from Cyprus who tries to set up
a Cyprus IMC.
This is a small introduction of who I am and the principles that I follow in life.

I was born in Cyprus in 1970 in a time of great political turmoil in the area and I was
affected by the Turkish invasion in the island becoming a refugee at the age of four. 
Thus early in my life I found myself intrigued by the notions of nation and church,
probably as ways of avoiding my everyday fear of an uncertain future.
Growing up and creating a family of my own I found out that my nation and religion
identities were serious obstacles in the way of life that I think truly represents me.

I consider myself as a citizen of the world, another beautiful flower in the garden of
man/woman  with equal rights and responsibilities as any other human being.  I believe
that the things that bring us together as manifestations of the Supreme are much more than
our culture differences.  I embrace the principles of the Liberation movement against
discrimination of any kind ( racial, sexual, cultural, spiritual ), and I want to
participate in the efforts of the Global anti authoritarian movement so that my daughter
has the chance to live in a better world than the one I am living in.  

I am currently a teacher and I see the Cyprus IMC project as a chance to bring people of
my natural birthplace in contact with the values I've mentioned above.  I participate in
the efforts of reaproachment of the two communities of my island via an internet
discussion group called Kalimerhaba, 

I embrace any kind of action taken in the direction of bringing the people of the planet
in contact towards a better life, personal, social and global, and I stand against any
kind of directed authority, personal governmental or global.

Hoping that time will give us the chance to fulfill our dreams
