[New-imc] imc-Costa Rica?

Hola, 
Les escribo de parte de un grupo de personas que nos
hemos reunido aqui, en San José, Costa Rica con la
idea de empezar un IMC aquí.
Desde que entré a la página de indymedia la idea me
pareció fabulosa, dar una alternativa a los medios
corporativos de información, creo que es un problema
que enfrentamos todos, el principal periodico y las
principales cadenas de noticias en nuestro pais hacen
una estupenda labor de desinformación, luego de un
fuerte entrenamiento durante los 80s. Por eso desde
inicios de los 90s (antes estaba muy joven)he
trabajado con varias iniciativas de comunicación
alternativa, al principio hicimos mucho radio, luego
una revista universitaria y ultimamente con unos
amigos nos dedicabamos a producir pequeños
documentales. Dentro del grupo por ahora tenemos
personas que hacen fotografía, video (personalmente
trabajo como camarógrafo free-lance), historiadores,
antropólogos y un par de diagramadoras, por ahora
todos jóvenes.
No hemos hecho la solicitud aún porque sabemos que
implica una gran responsabilidad, y sería bueno tener
más gente en el grupo conectada a otras áreas del país
y disiplinas. Tambien asegurarnos que funcione
decentemente la parte técnica y lo ideal es reunir un
poco de dinero y tener intenet por cable en un lugar
accesible a todos los miembros del grupo.

Por ahora les pedimos algunas recomendaciones que por
su experiencia consideren buenas para compartir,
cualquier contacto de gente que conozcan no sólo en
Costa Rica si no en la región. 
Creemos que sería bueno contactar gente en otros
países de la región y que la página abarcara noticias
también a ese nivel mientras no existan IMC en esos
países, por ahora tenemos muy buenos contactos en
Panamá y vimos que hay una iniciativa de iniciar un
IMC en Guatemala.

Tenemos la idea de empezar redactando algunos
artículos, como la instauración de la "Academia
Internacional para el Cumplimiento de la Ley" que E.U
va a instalar aqui. Mientras tanto y vamos viendo como
el grupo trabaja ¿cuál sería el mejor lugar para
enviar este tipo de información que creemos importante
compartir? 

Esperamos entonces recibir sus comentarios o preguntas
y que pronto nos unamos a la "familia"...

Hello,
I write on behalf a group of people that have been
gathering here, in San José, Costa Rica with the idea
to start a new IMC here.
Since I found indymedia on the web the idea seemed to
me not just faboulous buy necessary. The main
mass-media here do a great work on desinformation,
specially after the deep training they got during the
80s.
Since the 90s Ive been working with several projects
on alternative communications, at the beggining we do
some radio programs focus mainly on enviromentl
issues, latter we did a universitary independent
magazine, and now me and some friends have been doing
some short documentaries.
In the group by now we have some people that do photo,
video (I work as a freelance cameraman), historians,
anthropologists and a couple of fine web dessigners,
all young people by now.

We havent send the submit form cause we now that start
an IMC means a serious responsability and it will be
better to have a strongest group, with people in
closest touch with other areas of the country as well
as other disciplines. Also we think is very importat
to raise some money and get internet by cable in an
accesible place for all the members of the colective.

So by now we are requesting for some recommendations
ans suggestions as well as contacts not only in C.R
but in the hole C.A region. We think it would be great
to have a coverage of news not only on things going on
in Costa Rica but in the other countries of C.A if
they dont have a IMC there. We do have good contacts
with people in Panama as well as a panamenian girl in
the group. We also notice that it will be a new IMC in
Guatemala.

We also have the idea to start sending some articles,
like one about the implementation of the
"International Academy for Law Enforcement" that the
U.S goverment are going to built here. Where will be
the best place to send some news we think is important
to share, by now?

So we hope to get yours suggestions and questions and
that soon we will be part of the "family"...
