[New-imc] Re: [imc-commwork] working out a single imc info database

what i am doing now is setting it up so that info submitted via
newimc.indymedia.org is automatically entered into the database as a new
record with status 0 (where 1 = requested, 2 = approved by new-imc, 3 =
approved by imc-process, 4 = live, 5 = inactive). (do we need more status
types?) whoever submits this info will also be able to update it and/or
add new info. this info can be further edited by folks in new-imc working
group. once this is all implemented i will send out the URLs with
instructions.

info entered on newimc.indy form is considered 'private' and won't be
displayed on publicly accessible pages, for instance private_email,
private_phone etc... this is different from the info i gathered from
contact.php3, which is email_1, phone_1, phone_2, etc. there are also
private_tech_email, etc. which is the technical contact submitted via
newimc.indy (or added later).

each imc has a field for webhost ID, so there could be records of contact
info, URLs, etc. for each webhost/server (currently this table has only
webhost id and webhost name).

the user database will give certain privileges to certain users (i.e.
those who create the record can update it); other users (superusers) will
be able to update all records. we can add more user groups if needed..
